Something Dawning is the first release by Bristol dream-pop quintet Lespectre since their acclaimed A Stray, A Dream, Forgiveness album described by Classic Pop magazine as "a dream debut".

A stirring vocal duet, it's at turns lulling and foreboding, ephemeral images of hunter and prey flickering briefly into focus as twinkling piano chords, icy coruscating guitar shards and violins fired through effects pedals decorate the beatific fringes of the coming storm.

Lespectre's first new music of 2021 was also the final track recorded at the iconic Coach House Studio where Massive Attack and Portishead crafted many of their trip-hop masterworks, the band gathering around microphones to capture the last artefacts as bulldozers waited to move in and accelerate the latest wave of gentrification.
